Mountside Residential Care Home

Moving to a care home may seem like a big step, we offer the opportunity to form new friendships and provide a safe, comfortable place to live, staffed 24 hours a day.

Our aim is to give our residents freedom of choice, privacy, dignity, respect, and complete individuality. To achieve this we ensure that our staff are all well trained and experienced in providing the quality care and support that you need.

Mealtimes are an important part of daily life in our homes. Our chefs carefully select a different menu for each day of the week, ensuring our residents enjoy a variety of delicious dishes. At Mountside we recognise that all mealtimes are a very sociable time of the day.

Soon after residents arrive we put together a personal care plan. By speaking to our residents, we are able to set out their needs and ask them about any personal preferences they might have, so we can tailor our care to their unique needs.

Situated in a prime residential position in Hastings, East Sussex, within a reasonable distance of the seafront, cliffs, shopping centre, and Alexandra Park, our residents at Mountside enjoy the healthy seaside environment that the southeast coast has to offer.

Residents can enjoy our communal areas such as three lounge’s, two dining room’s and landscaped gardens. Our activities coordinator organises various activities, events, and outings working to help individuals pursue interests and hobbies.

All rooms are furnished to a high standard and include an emergency call system. Our residents are encouraged to personalise their bedroom with any small items of furniture, pictures and ornaments.

Our friendly and professionally trained staff are on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide residents with the support they need.

Alexandra Park is within short walking distance and includes a bandstand, Bowling Green, ponds, swans, ducks and lovely lawns and flower beds. The park includes a cafe which serves cream teas and light snacks. Mountside is on a local bus route with bus stops right outside the Home with regular trips into town and Hastings seafront. For those who are feeling more adventurous, there is a train station in the centre of Hastings and also a further station at Ore where people can go to Battle, Bexhill, Rye, Eastbourne, Brighton, or London.

We have a large town centre and a quaint old historical old town.

Local events include Old Town Carnival, ‘Costal Currents’ festival, seafood and wine Festival, and a month-long arts festival. We are very proud to hold an annual Pirates day and Jack in The Green processions. Hastings also boasts theatres, museums and art galleries as well as hosting the Hastings International Chess Congress. In October we have a well attended Hastings bonfire night. We host a beer festival in July which is held within Alexandra Park, again is very well supported. Hastings is better known for its fishing community and appears on many local articles.
